ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
CHARACTER
Each candidate must be of good character.
HEALTH
Each candidate must be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

· FAILURE TO UPLOAD ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS I.E. QUALIFICATIONS, I.D. ETC., AT SUBMISSION STAGE WILL AUTOMATICALLY RESULT IN AN INVALID APPLICATION.
· APPLICANTS SHOULD SATISFY THEMSELVES THAT THEIR EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS MEET THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION.
· APPLICANTS WITH NON-IRISH QUALIFICATIONS CAN AVAIL OF THE ON-LINE RECOGNITION OF FOREIGN QUALIFICATIONS SERVICE PROVIDED BY QUALITY AND QUALIFICATIONS IRELAND (QQI) AND MUST SUBMIT PROOF OF SAME WITH THEIR APPLICATIONS.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, ETC.
Each candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms -
(a) (1) have passed the N.C.E.A./H.E.T.A.C National Certificate Final Examination in:
Civil Engineering,
or
Geo-surveying,
or
Construction Studies,
or
Construction Studies in Building Maintenance,
or
Construction Studies in Architectural Graphics,
or
hold an equivalent qualification
and
have at least three years satisfactory experience after attaining the qualification concerned
OR
(2) have, satisfactory relevant experience, in a technician post at Grade II level, or in an analogous post under a local authority or Health Board/HSE in the State,
and
have at least three years satisfactory relevant experience in a technician post at Grade II level or in an analogous post,
OR
(3) have satisfactory service, in a technician post at Grade I or higher level in an analogous post under a local authority or Health Board/HSE in the State
Each candidate must also:
(b) possess adequate training or experience relating to the control and supervision of staff.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
It is desirable that each candidate shall:
1 Hold an N.C.E.A/H.E.T.A.C. National Certificate Final Examination in Architectural Technology or equivalent qualification.
2 Hold a relevant qualification and or proven experience in the use of AutoCAD.
3 Have knowledge and understanding and ability to use software packages such as: Arcgis, Revit (an advantage but not essential), other BIM software, Map Info, graphics packages such as the Adobe Suite of software and Microsoft Office packages.
4 Have a thorough knowledge of the Building Regulations (TGDs) 1997-2021, the BC(A)R Regulations 2014 and the Health & Safety Regulations in relation to building design and construction,
5 Have experience in:-
· Housing design and deliver and be familiar with social housing requirements.
· Fire safety certificate and disability access certificate applications.
· The delivery of projects within a tight deadline.
· Site inspection & reporting.
6 Be competent in the use of equipment to carry out tasks associated with technical duties.
7 Have ability to work in a team environment or work independently as required.
8 Hold a full Irish driving licence for class B vehicles.
