1.1.1 Character
Each candidate must be of good character.
1.1.2 Health
Each candidate must be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
1.1.3 Education, Training, Experience etc.
(a) Hold a third level qualification (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications) or equivalent professional qualification in Engineering, Town Planning, Environmental Science, Architecture or other discipline relevant to climate change and have at least five years satisfactory experience in at least one of these fields.
(b) Have a proven track record in project management and delivery of projects /initiatives.
(c) Demonstrate a high level of technical competence in formulating, implementing and managing strategies, plans, studies or processes including stakeholder engagement.
(d) Demonstrate experience of fostering, establishing and sustaining productive strategic partnerships and working relationships.
Desirable Requirements
It is desirable that each candidate shall:
(a) Hold a post-graduate qualification in climate, environmental science, energy or other relevant discipline and/or a qualification or certification in project management.
(b) Demonstrate an understanding of the aims and objectives of the Climate Action Regional Offices.
(c) Possess a good knowledge of local government functions, structures, services and activities.
(d) Have a high level of IT competence, including database compilation, maintenance and analysis and have proven competence in statistical methods and data analysis and experience of data analysis software.
(e) Demonstrate good knowledge and/or experience in energy management.
