1.1.1 Character
Each candidate must be of good character.
1.1.2 Health
Each candidate must be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
1.1.3 Education, Training, Experience etc.
Candidate must have on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms:
Hold an honours degree (level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications) in Engineering;
Have at least five years satisfactory relevant engineering experience;
Possess a high standard of technical training and experience; and
Possess a high standard of administrative experience.
Each applicant must hold a current safepass at appointment.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
It is desirable that each candidate shall have:
An understanding of the Local Government System and the range of roles and responsibilities of Kilkenny County Council.
A good knowledge and awareness of statutory obligations of Health and Safety Legislation the implications for the organisation and the employee, and their application in the workplace.
Be able to demonstrate how their experience has given them the skills to schedule/programme the carrying out of work.
Have experience in the management and supervision of staff.
